Riverside path and old hedge dividing Ox Close fields from the wooded cliffs.

We have surveyed the hedges lining the riverside path and the woodland itself as part of our 'Heritage Survey' for the Parish Council, recording the variety of trees, shrubs and ground flora.  The path would have developed along the 'headlands' of the field strips that ran across Ox Close, or Church Field as it is now popularly referred to. 

You may notice along the riverside path and in the woods plants associated with older woodland,
such as (left to right above) Celandine, Bird's Nest Orchid; Violets and Wood Anemones.
