Stone Gate Post Group
 

Welcome to the Stone Gate Post Group, hosted by
Boston Spa Archaeology & Heritage Group website.
 

The group began in 2009 when we noticed how many gateposts were gradually disappearing with changing agricultural practices and redevelopment of houses.
We want to find out more about this, raise awareness and record examples before they are lost.

Read our story and see if you might be interested in doing something similar in your area. We have devised a survey method, which is simple but interesting to do and which can link up with your other field work and historical research. The results can be entered in the Historical Environment Record maintained by the Archaeology Service.
